2017 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year®

Nominations for the 2017 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® opened on January 2, 2017 and closed on January 31st. The award is an opportunity to honor the military spouses who are committed to bettering the military community and our country. Previous recipients include a Marine Corps spouse who founded a nonprofit to help feed the homeless, a small business owner dedicated to empowering her fellow military spouses, a counselor who, with her husband, works to heal military marriages and the founder of the Semper Fi Foundation, an organization that has raised millions of dollars to help heal wounded warriors.

"Armed Forces Insurance has been a part of the Military Spouse of the Year® award for seven years, and we couldn't be more proud of the accomplishments of military spouses. Fifteen years of war has shown us the resilience, dedication and innovation military spouses bring every day to their communities. The candidates were announced on February 1st and base voting took place between February 2nd and 9th. Base winners were announced February 13th and the 18 finalists were announced on February 15th, three from each service - Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and National Guard. The individual Base and Branch candidates for this award, which is presented by Military Spouse magazine, were selected through a combination of an online votes open to all Americans and a judges' panel. The six branch winners will be announced on February 24, 2017, and the third and final voting round on March 2nd, results in the awarding of the 2017 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® during a live V.I.P. event hosted in Washington D.C. in May 2017.
