Armed Forces Insurance partners with the Military Warriors Support Foundation

Armed Forces Insurance recently partnered with the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) as the preferred insurance company for the MWSF programs. The (MWSF), through Homes4WoundedHeroes, the homes donation program, awards 100% mortgage-free homes to combat wounded veterans. During the NCAA Football Bowl season, AFI helped present three new homes to deserving heroes.

Heart of Dallas Bowl, December 26, 2014- Retired Army Specialist Patrick Kelly was awarded a home in Chandler, TX, donated by Bank of America.

SPC Kelly served in 23rd Infantry Regiment as a Stryker Driver. He was deployed to Afghanistan in early 2012. SPC Kelly was awarded an Army Commendation Medal and a Combat Infantry Badge. He received a Purple Heart for his injuries sustained while performing combat operations.

Advocare Bowl, December 29, 2014- Retired Army Staff Sergeant James Hilyard was awarded a home in Donna, TX, donated by Bank of America.

SSG Hilyard served in the Army from December 1997 to April 2013. He was deployed to Iraq for two tours of duty. SSG Hilyard received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained while performing combat operations. He was also awarded the Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Combat Action Badge.

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, January 2, 2015- Retired Marine Corps Sergeant Kenneth Rolon was awarded a home in Mesquite, TX, donated by Bank of America.

SGT Rolon served in the Marines for 8 years. He was deployed to Iraq for 2 tours of duty and 1 tour in Afghanistan. SGT Rolon received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained while performing combat operations. He was also awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal and a Combat Action Ribbon.

The Homes4WoundedHeroes program is also available to Gold Star Spouses of Heroes who have fallen in combat. In addition to the home, each family receives three years of family and financial mentoring so that they may learn the skills necessary to become happy and successful homeowners. This program not only changes the lives of the Hero and their family, but it also changes the lives of the generations that follow.
