President's Message
In 2017, Armed Forces Insurance bid farewell to our Chairman, Lt Gen Garry Parks (Ret). General Parks served as our Chairman for five and a half years. His leadership and wisdom were critical in navigating through turbulent times. We thank General Parks for a job well done! We are proud to welcome our new Chairman, Lieutenant General Stanley “Sid” Clarke. We are thrilled he accepted this leadership position. Under General Clarke’s stewardship we look to dramatically accelerate the growth of Armed Forces Insurance by increasing our reach into the military market.
Recently we developed strategic relationships with both First Command Financial Services and Armed Forces Bank. We are proud to work with these top tier financial firms in distributing financial products to the military market.
We continue to seek and evaluate innovation initiatives. We are developing enhanced options for paying your premium, as well as more options for receiving payments from Armed Forces Insurance. Look for the launch of our new AFI “App” which will enhance our mobile capabilities and allow us to better serve you!
Our financial results in 2017 met our expectations. Despite numerous natural catastrophes (primarily hurricanes Harvey & Irma and the Napa Valley wildfires) we generated an operating profit of $1,500,000. We also increased our members by 1,575, which was the third consecutive year of member growth and more than doubled 2016’s growth of 693 members. We remain financially strong and are proud of our ability and willingness to serve you, our members, in your time of need.
