Heating Fire Safety
Each year fire claims the lives of 3,400 Americans, injures 17,500, and causes billions of dollars worth of damage. People living in rural areas are more than twice as likely to die in a fire than those living in mid-sized cities or suburban areas. The misuse of wood stoves, portable space heaters and kerosene heaters are especially common risks in rural areas.
Are you prepared for tornado season?
Tornadoes are nature's most violent storms. Spawned from powerful thunderstorms, tornadoes can cause fatalities and devastate a neighborhood in seconds. A tornado appears as a rotating, funnel-shaped cloud that extends from a thunderstorm to the ground with whirling winds that can reach 300 miles per hour.
El Niño: Increasing the Flood Risk
Floods are the most expensive and frequently occurring natural disaster in the United States. Flooding causes damage and destruction to homes and businesses every year. Even a few inches of floodwater in a home or business can cause thousands of dollars in damage.

General Mark K. Welsh III, received the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl's Great American Patriot Award on December 29, 2015, which was presented during the halftime show at the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl honoring General Welsh on his exemplary service to the United States.

Nominations for the 2016 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® opened on January 5, 2016 and closed on January 15th. During that time military spouses were nominated for the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® award. The award is a chance to ensure the military spouses who not only support their service member, but who are actively supporting and working to better the military community as a whole, are recognized for their valiant efforts.
